Russ joined Pease Bell as a partner in 2021 and is the practice leader for the firm’s Assurance Services Department. He is responsible for guiding the department’s direction, mentoring team members, and upholding the firm’s high standards for audit quality, technical excellence, and client service.

Known for his practical, client-first mindset, Russ takes pride in developing long-term advisory relationships with privately held businesses. He works closely with business owners and management teams to help them navigate evolving financial reporting requirements while delivering insights that go beyond compliance.
Russ has developed a reputation as a go-to technical resource in the areas of acquisition accounting and complex business combinations. His experience with deals and deep knowledge of GAAP enables him to support clients throughout M&A lifecycle — from pre-deal structuring through post-transaction integration and purchase price allocation. He frequently collaborates with legal and transaction advisory teams to ensure financial reporting objectives align with strategic business goals.
He focuses primarily on clients in the manufacturing, distribution, construction, and professional services sectors, bringing a strong understanding of industry-specific issues and operational realities.
EDUCATION
Russ holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio Northern University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is an alumnus of the 2013 class of Torchbearers and a graduate of Leadership Akron Class 38.
PERSONAL LIFE
Outside the office, Russ remains connected to his roots, spending time on his family’s farm and enjoying the outdoors with his wife, two daughters and dog, Grizzly.
